The food was great and compared to other hot pot spots, this one is the best. Comes with watermelon appetizer and free ice cream at the end. The ingredients are fresh and they have a wide selection of broth (I like the spicy beef broth). Will definitely be back!

We tried the Beef Bone Broth soup and absolutely enjoyed it! Super flavorful and perfect with one scoop of chili oil as well. There was a wide variety of ingredients to add into our bowl, and it was well organized & clean! Despite it getting busy when we visited, we got our bowls and to a table really fast! Super fun and delicious place to have a hot bowl of soup filled with anything you’d like! Highly recommend, and will come again.

Came here yesterday for dinner with a few friends on a Weds evening. To my surprise, parking was available on the same street right out front of the restaurant. It wasn't busy around 6PM so we were able to get seated right away, but it was a full house by 7. I noticed it was a bit noisy when the place was packed which made it difficult to have a conversation. I hadn't been to one of these restaurants before so I thought it was fun to be able to grab a large bowl and add all the veggies, noodles, meats, and other items that you wanted in your soup along with your choice of soup base. It was $14.99/lb which seemed reasonably priced. I chose the bone broth with a 2 star spice level but found it to be spicier than anticipated. Once you've weighed your bowl, the chef cooks it for you. The waitress also went around each table to give free cantaloupe and orange slices. I would consider this place a hot pot fast food restaurant; I'll be happy to go back if I want something quick without the whole hot pot dining experience and price.

Absolutely love YGF Malatang! This is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving something spicy, comforting, and customizable. The ingredient selection is always fresh — from veggies and tofu to meats and noodles — and the soup base is rich, flavorful, and perfectly spicy (you can choose your spice level!). The self-serve style makes it fun and easy to build your own bowl, and everything is weighed fairly at the counter. Service is quick and friendly, and the place is always clean. Highly recommend if you’re into hot pot or spicy Asian food.

Love YGF Malatang in the University District! As someone who wants to try more hotpot, but is easily intimidated, this casual spot has become a family favorite. The nature of their design makes it easy to try something new, without having to commit to an entire bowl of it. Upon entering, you’re invited to pick up a bowl and tongs and select from a wide selection of veggies, seafood, and meats. Fill your bowl with what you know you’ll love and then select a piece or two of something new to you. Your bowl is weighed and you’re asked to choose a broth and spice level. You pay and are given a number. You are able to watch them prepare your soup or find a table. When your meal is ready, an automated voice twice says your number. Even at super busy times, it’s easy to hear. Pick up your bowl and take it to the finishing station to add your personal touches. We’ve done both dine in and take-away and it’s always good! Parking is street and usually available. It’s also just a quick walk from U-Dist Light Rail.

This is some of the best hotpot I've had. I'm impressed! I came here with a friend and we were shocked at how good the food was! She got the tomato b flavor based soup and I got the spicy beef flavor based soup and wow it was so yummy and flavorful!

I understand the hype about this place now! This was my first time having YGF Malatang, even though I tried plenty of times around the city. The rock here is so flavorful as well as there needs some other selection of items. Recommend and will come back

$14.99 per a lb. This is a you pick your ingredients for a soup or you can choose soupless. The base choices are tomatoe broth or beef broth. You can choose spice level for the beef broth. There were a lot of flies by the sauce uncovered garnishment area. There was one fly around my table. This location isn't as tidy and clean as the Bellevue location. They have the peanut sauce behind the counter so you have to ask them for it. They bus your tables. You pick up your food at the pick up counter. Your reciept will have a number. The numbers are out of order. ( call 13 then 35 then 82 then 83)
